About DJ G.B.

I'm a husband, proud dad of two children, and a very laid back person. I was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. I'm a mobile DJ based in Baltimore. I prioritize my clients and providing them great customer service. I developed a love for up-tempo dance music while in my late twenties. While at family functions, I would watch my Uncle Jimmie (The DJ) spin his RECORDS on the turntables, and move the crowd continuously. When I wasn't on the dance floor, I was often peeking over his shoulder just to see what he was actually doing.  

After several years of contemplating, I finally decided to start djing as a hobby. I purchased my first set of DJ gear in 2017 to set up shop in my basement. Being new to the industry, I didn't want to overspend. I purchased one powered speaker, cables, and a cheap DJ Controller. I didn’t start djing in an era where playing on turntables, and carrying around crates of records was largely popular like it was back in the day. Djing has evolved and has been made easier for those who want to learn like I did. Personally, I wanted DJ gear that was compact, simple, and fun for me to play on.

As I played around on my equipment, watched tutorial videos and talked to my Uncle Jimmie and other DJ mentors, I eventually began to learn the basics of music structure and beat matching. It wasn’t long after that, I got my first gig. I was asked to DJ my Mother-In-Law's annual Labor Day weekend cookout. With no real experience, I was hesitant to agree to play in front of a crowd. In the end, I agreed to DJ, and did the best I could. I was nervous in the beginning, but eventually I calmed down, surveyed the crowd, and played a good selection of music that everyone seemed to enjoy. Since that time, I've done several social events and weddings. I was also a Resident DJ at Skyzone East Baltimore for one year. I really enjoy watching people cut a rug when I'm on the decks.

Using only state-of-the-art equipment, you will enjoy top-notch sound at your event. I primarily use a DDJ SRT 1000 controller and QSC K12.2 top speakers. If you need more thump, I have (2) QSC K118 subwoofers that will blow the roof off your venue. I have invested in the most quality gear to provide an unforgettable sound experience for your event. Serato DJ is my go-to software.
